"I hadn’t been paying much attention to things like the sunrise, but that old sun had been coming up anyway. It didn’t really care how I felt, it was going to rise and set regardless of whether I noticed it, and if I was going to enjoy it, that was up to me."

you know it is hokie football season in blacksburg when:
1. you become partially colorblind; except instead of only being able to see shades of black and white, you only see maroon and orange.
2. you pick out which hokie gear you are going to wear to the game the night before
3. you wake up at 7:30 a.m. to start tailgating
4. your heart starts beating faster, and your blood (which has the high possibility of being maroon and orange in color) rushes through your body when you hear the first note of Enter Sandman
5. you scream and jump in lane stadium for four hours straight in the midst of a heat wave without wavering
6. you scream and jump in lane stadium for four hours straight in the midst of a blizzard without wavering
7. you soon find after leaving the game, that you have lost your voice
8. you lie your head down on your pillow at night and close your eyes only to hear hokie chants in your head
my sleep mask was my best friend this weekend. overnight shifts at the loft suckkk and trying to go to bed at 9 am when the sun is out sucks even more. i hate working in retail. on the bright side, it is a nice reminder of why i’m in college.
Happy 4th of July!!!
